Reading a COA
Five tests, in plain words.
All eleven tested lots have all five tests on file.
HPLC
Content and purity
How many milligrams of peptide the vial holds, and what share of the detected peptide material is the named peptide. For a blend the lab gives the amount of each peptide.
LC-MS and GC-MS
Contaminant screening
Searches the vial for anything that does not belong there. The lab lists what it found, such as mannitol, the peptide and its breakdown products. For nine of the eleven lots with this test the lab adds: no significant contamination detected.
EU per vial
Bacterial endotoxin
Reported in EU (endotoxin units) for the whole vial. The report gives the number, not a pass or fail.
As, Cd, Pb, Hg
Heavy metals
Arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury. None was detected in any lot that has this test.
TAMC and TYMC
Sterility
Looks for living microbes: TAMC is the total aerobic microbial count, TYMC the total yeast and mould count. The report gives pass or fail. Every lot with this test passed both.
